Hi Archie ,

Do you have any idea where I can download an iso image or buy a cd of this program . Where I use AHMI there is no reliable internet connection ( slow and drops occasionally ) for large downloads .

Support Questions / Numbering Screens

I'm missing something . Is there a way of numbering screens so that the number can be sent to the PLC and  also the PLC can call a screen by number ?

Support Questions / AB CLX driver in Version 3.99c and later

Hi ,
I've downloaded v399c and now v399d and after building both these projects , only 3 of the ab drivers are available in the toolbox - df1 , plc5 & slc . How do i get the ipx driver in particular to the toolbox ?
I'm using vb 2010 .

Hi Archie ,

Just tried V398t on a win8.1 tablet . The new driver recovery works like a charm . Walked out of range then back and the screens comms resumed without error messages . tried the same with power saving mode and , on resume , the display continued as if nothing had happened . Very impressive ! Well done .

Open Discussion / Renaming

Hi Archie ,

With all the revisions coming through , I've been having problems keeping up with where all the various screens I've been experimenting with are . I've started renaming the solution to , for
example , AHMIv398sMonitorV3 . I notice I now have 2 .suo files . It has belatedly occurred to me that there may be other side effects to doing this . Am I OK to keep on renaming , or will it cause other problems down the line ?

Support Questions / Basic Label Numeric Formatting

I'm a bit embarassed I didn't notice this before . I built a screen last year with a basic label for the date . The data is sent over as part of a double integer array from compact logix . The word contents for today was 17062015 . I've set the numeric format to 00:00:0000 . When the project runs , the display reads 17:06:2016  . I checked the PLC 1st - OK . Added a basic label with no changes and 17062015 displayed . I'm not a VB guru , so I wondered if the formatting is incorrect . For the moment I've added a second basic label without formatting and put it to the back , offset , with just the year showing and shortened the original  label to display the day and month only .

Support Questions / Image Display

I recently aquired a tablet with windows 8.1 and deployed a project ( V398n ) on it . The project itself worked great - it was for an AB L32E over ethernet . All the buttons , basic labels messages all worked just fine . Thanks Archie !
Unfortunately , the background images did not display . Even the AHMI logo on the Main form (Top left ) did not display ( I'm so pleased with AHMI that I put the Logo on every form I develope ) . Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong . ( These images all display when the project is deployed on a  Win XP PC ) .

Hi ,

Firstly , a happy and prosperous New Year to everyone .

I've just come across this reference for HMI standards and the article dated August 2014 said that the draft of this standard was due out in the 4th quarter of 2014 . However , what I could find out on the web was confusing and I wonder if anyone has found out more about it , or gotten hold of the draft .
The standard appears to be far-reaching covering the basic design of software and hardware as well as the layout of screens and symbols for levels of fault on monitored processes although there do not appear to be absolute values for colours used for display .
How much will this standard affect us and how ?

Support Questions / invalid cast exception

Hi ,
 
First may I wish everyone a happy holiday .

I had a little time today so I tried to upgrade a project from 3.84 to 3.94 . The PLC is an AB Compact L32E
using IP for CLX driver . The status pages all went without a hitch but the last page has several basic buttons .
They use a tag for highlighting with the name PLCtoHMIbits.n and the click address as HMItoPLCbits.n .
    The screen slowed right down and some comms were lost . The exception  was located at line 1031 in the
ip for clx code . I have'nt done VB for nearly 20 years so I've a mountain to climb , and at the moment your code is beyond me .
Deleting all but one of the buttons restored normal function .
I'm wondering if this is associated with other problems you're having , and if this willl help solving it .

Support Questions / Copying components between projects with v3.80

What is the best way to copy components between projects ?
I have a couple of MessageDisplayByValue components with up to 85 messages , so there is a lot of work in recreating them .
