Support Questions / Re: Modbus RTU - KOYO PLC
« on: September 25, 2014, 09:16:30 AM »
Thank you for your response!
Having been programming the Koyo 05 and 06's for going on 15 years now I am well versed in the assuming a decimal point :)

Just knowing the DF registers in the Click are not going to work at all is going to save me a ton of time, thank you.

Joe.

Support Questions / Modbus RTU - KOYO PLC
« on: September 24, 2014, 01:12:31 PM »
I've read through the post about Koyo PLC's and found a host of good information and have been able to get the latest version of the software installed and have almost everything working well except when trying to address a Click "DF" register.
I believe DF is (D)ouble word (F)loating point value. The Modbus address the Click software offers up looks like this:
Modbus address (function code) 428673 (03,06,16)
I am trying to read/right to this register and have had no luck.

Admit tingly I know little about Modbus addressing and have gotten as far as I have from examples and posts on this forum.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Support Questions / Re: Null Reference Exception

With page 2 already created I tried placing a new control (DigitalPanelMeter) on page two and addressing it to a known working address and got nothing.

The I placed a new Modbus/TCP control on page two, set it up identical to the one already on the main page except for the name of course and now I get the same NullReferenceException I was getting before I applied the patch. The error only happens when I go to page 2.

Thank you

Another note about modbus addressing I just learned using AdvancedHMI - Modbus/TCP and a Koyo PLC.

One thing I had been missing is the types of data you are polling and "prefixes" that are associated with the types:

    0xxxx - Coils.
    1xxxx - Discrete inputs.
    3xxxx - Input registers.
    4xxxx - Holding registers.

Note that there is no 2xxxx address prefix.

The above was taken from this article.

So when addressing C1 I found the address to be 3074, but because it is a "Coil" I had to include the prefix "0" to make the correct address 03074.

thank you, I'll give it ab shot.

I found it to work just fine.

However it took me a moment or two to realize that if I only wanted to read a single register I needed to drop the second
parameter altogether rather than reading a an array value of one.

For example:
ModbusTcpCom1.ReadAny(addr, 20) 'reads 20 consecutive registers
ModbusTcpCom1.ReadAny(addr) 'reads a single register
Notice I omitted the second parameter rather than using a value of 1 to read a single register.

Thank you for your help!

Support Questions / Modbus/TCP ?'s
« on: April 12, 2013, 01:07:48 PM »
First question, is there a way to poll a memory location without the use of one of the controls?
For example I would like to poll a memory location and just place the result in a variable.

Second question, is there away to poll a memory location for a double word value?
Or is polling two single locations and combining values for double word result the only way to make this work?

Thank you

Worked like a charm and I very much appreciate the quick response!

Support Questions / Null Reference Exception
« on: April 10, 2013, 09:01:45 AM »
I'm using the Modbus/TCP comm driver and with just a simple panel meter for the application.

I am able to read a single memory location and display it's changing value in the panel meter for approximately 10 seconds or so then I get the Null Reference Exception.

Is this a known issue? Any suggestions on what I might try?

Thank you

Please consider including a Koyo PLC driver.
