Thanks for the reply. I've uninstalled all the EDS files just to eliminate that as a possibility.. Still the same thing.  Latest version of RsLinx too..

Open Discussion / RsLinx - Rswho failure
« on: January 08, 2018, 09:58:00 AM »
I've been working on a new AHMI project and I installed the new version of Visual Studio Community 2017, sqlserver express 2017 and sql server management studio. All that works fine. My problem is that when I open RsLinx I get a message that says 'Rswho failed.. either out of memory, no disk space...etc...

I have uninstalled sqlserver and sqlserver management studio, downloaded the latest version of rxlinx, deleted the harmony files, etc..

Any ideas???

Thanks. I'll try to connect and pull some data with the EthernetIPforPLCSLCMicroCom driver before I commit to anything.

I see this is a few years old but I have a customer that's on an old PLC5 with an old version of another scada system. He wants to get replace that old scada with something newer and more maintainable.

Has this issue with floating point in the plc5 ever been addressed?

I just want to follow up on this for others that may have the same problem.  After changing the yaxismin and yaxismax to real values instead of 'auto' I haven't seen the problem. It was occurring every few hours and it's been ok for nearly 2 days now.

Thanks. I'll try using 'suppressexceptions'.  Also I just caught the chart going from 0-35(y) to -600 to 200 just before the error. It's for sure something in the 'estimate' method. I also changed from 'auto' yaxismin and yaxismax to 0 and 50.  I'll post the results. I'm sure I'm not the only one seeing this. thanks.

Support Questions / ChartBySampling execption

I keep getting an exception error on my chart that happens after the application runs for several  hours. The error says 'Axis Object - The minimum value of the axis is greater than the largest data point value'.     The YaxisMin and Yaxismax properties are set to auto.

I will work on a couple of forms as a test. I think it is worth the extra coding for a better product.  Thanks for your insight.

Yes it is modbus TCP. Most of the network is fiber. The current system experiences delays in the range of 5-10 seconds and is sometimes even slower.

I think they would be happy to have 2-3 seconds delay on updates and maybe 5 seconds when opening a new form.

I'm looking for opinions here.  I am looking at replacing an existing data acquisition system and I'm looking at Advanced HMI as an option. I am interested in it because of the ability to connect to sql and also because of this great forum!

So the current system has about 30 forms, about 1500 data points acquired from 16 different locations via modbus.  Much of the data is shared between forms and there are additionally about 50 or so calculated  data points. The average number of data points per form will average around 20 or so with the largest having around 40.

My question really is whether Advanced HMI can handle this load.  The conversion will be very labor intensive which my customer is fine with; I just don't want to get near the end and find out that it's not going to work. I have very little experience with this product so I don't have enough real world experience with it to have an opinion of my own.

Any comments/ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Yes I did and then read that that's a no no. So I reinstalled Advanced HMI and it was ok again for a little while. Not sure what's triggering this error.

I failed to say that I'm running windows 10. Is that a problem? I did find a post last night that said only use XP or Windows 7. Is that right?

Support Questions / Error trying to run application
« on: December 18, 2016, 08:51:02 PM »
I just installed Visual Studio Community 2015 and downloaded Advanced HMI. This is my first time using either of them so I hardly know where to start. I was able to setup to talk to 2 Allen Bradley micrologix units without any problems. then after adding several components I started getting this error: An error occurred while signing: The specified executable is not a valid application for this OS platform.

I also got an error about signtool.exe not being in a folder that was label V7 as if it were expecting windows 7?  I did install signtool.exe and copied it to that folder but my problem with the 'os platform' error continues.

I am given the option to run the last successful build and it works fine but I can't find any differences.

Any help is much appreciated.
thanks,
mark
