Open Discussion / OMRON FINS protocol question
« on: May 21, 2018, 02:52:02 PM »
Hello All-
I have been trying to understand the exchange between AHMI and an Omron PLC.
I am using the 'y' beta version (Thanks Archie) but do not yet fully understand the packet structure and perhaps someone out there could help me in learning this.
Below is an abbreviated log file between a PC and an Omron unit runninf AHMI FINS serial communication:

               Unit#- HDR - Resp - ICF - RSV - GCT - DNA – DA1 – DA2 - SNA – SA1 – SA2 - SID - Command Code, Text                                                FCS - Terminator
            @   X X   F A    X     8 0   0 0   0 2   X X   X X   X X   0 0   0 0   0 0   X X       X X    ,  xxx-xxx                                             X X     * CR
(How is this packet broken down?  Where is SA2 and SID?  Where is a FC command?)

Support Questions / Recipe Button
« on: May 19, 2018, 03:09:45 PM »
In looking through I don't have a clear idea how to make this button work.
I would like to have 1 button that fires multiple relays; for example 6.10-6.15
How would the INI file look and what is its name and where do you put it?

Support Questions / Comms Enabling Logging - where is it?
« on: May 19, 2018, 02:33:10 PM »
1st of all, thanks to all who have spent time and documented things they are doing - it helps me a great deal as I am still a 'nube' at this.
In reading several threads, people are asked to 'enable loging' on the comm driver to log files in order to find out what is going on.

I must need new glasses because I have (I think) been all over the screen and cannot find where I enable logging for the Omron FINS serial driver.
Where is it located??

Again, thanks to All.

Support Questions / Omron Host Link and getting started
« on: April 05, 2018, 12:43:02 PM »
Good Morning All-
I have just found Advanced HMI and I am curious where I can go to be able to place a button and a light on the screen and have it set/reset a bit or read a bit in the CS1 PLC.
I have not found where it explains how I can set the object to the word and bit in the PLC.
For example; I have a 96 input which is words 0-5 and a 96 output which is words 6-11.  Where do I put the 5.6 in the programming to equate an input on the screen to the 7th bit of the 6th word?
Is there a manual somewhere to set this up with examples?  The quick start does not speak to the Host link which I know is older, but that is all that I have at this point.
Any help to get started would be of immense help.
Regards to All.
