Open Discussion / Re: HTTP protol or web interface
« on: June 01, 2015, 08:13:22 AM »
If i am missing something then i apologize for posting on this question. If you want a web interface sooner then 2 years couldn't you drop a data base into the mix? Have AMHI read from the PLC and input into the DB and from the DB back into the PLC. So essentially you would be using AHMI as a type of service and build your web page to read and input in to the DB. With a decent network and i would suggest MySQL as the DB it would not be that complicated. Then you would also be free to build your web UI in any language you choose.

Tons of videos on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b17Bfza1X3A&spfreload=10. Its not something i would suggest a novice attempt but its not overly complicated. And since Mint is pretty much Ubuntu with a much better UI seems do able to use AHMI.

I know you mentioned in another post that you had AHMI running on Linux Mint, will it run on Ubuntu as well?? If so you can install Ubuntu on some Android Tablets and presto chango portable AHMI.

So one click publish will not work with AdvancedHMI Archie? Or Creating an installer?
Just wondering :)

Open Discussion / Re: Controlling USB Relays via AdvancedHMI?

I looked at the USB relays he is referring to and they look similar to something you can pick up at Radio Shack. Something i could not see being used in an industrial application, and probably is not designed for it.

Operators? Are you building some type of industrial application? If so think you are going down the wrong path!

Have you looked into using Arduino boards. I know there are a few people out there that have gotten them to work with AdvancedHMI and my self i have some basic stuff set up with just VB.net and the
Arduino programming environment.

After watching the video and re reading some of your posts, definitely going to want to include a DB down the road or you will have a monster on your hands!!
3 tables, 1 screen and 1 For Each Loop.

Nice Linux and Python!!!

There is no automation from what i see to the Kegerface. Just a web page is all.

I understand why Ladder Logic is what it is, but with my background i think that ST is a much better fit. Does anyone know of an affordable PLC and programming platform that uses ST?
Thanks

I hear ya on the Real Job thing!!! Give me a shout when you want to try.

i have never hit a limit and i have some pretty large select case statements floating around!!! Glad my suggestion worked and let me know when i can get a Capt. N Coke :).
Now if you ever want to really make it easy to maintain i would suggest adding a database to the system in the future that will make everything a lot easier to add drinks modify drinks etc with out having to alter your code. Let me know if you ever want to go that route i would be happy to help!!!
