Title: Run solution from network drive.
Post by: DavidSr on January 02, 2019, 07:27:16 PM
This is probably a question for Archie,

I tried copying the ADHMI solution to our file server (NetWare 6.5) hoping I could run it from there but It would not run.
Is there a way to do it from a network drive?

Thank you!

David

What happened when you tried to run it? It should work unless your file server does not give you execute permissions.

I have 6 apps now running on a windows server, they are small but validate serial numbers from our production lines with our SQL database and then record the production data back to the database. We have not had a problem.

NetWare is not an application Server - It's a file server. You can however run applications that are installed on it so long as they have the execute attribute set and the user has execute rights. I run several that way that I do not want installed on a workstation.

Did you move the whole debug folder to your file server? And did the error occurred with you or someone else PC?

Whatever it was it is working just fine now. I probably clicked on the wrong executable.
