Title: Ethernet-IP on instruments other than PLC

Hi, does is it possible to use Advanced HMI to read and write variables from an instrument that is not a PLC?
What I'm trying to do is to communicate with an instrument that uses CPI (Common Protocol Interface) on Ethernet/IP.
Has anyone ever faced this kind of problems?

Currently not possible. The drivers only implement the service codes necessary for reading/writing PLC data. A feature is on the works to allow generic CIP messages allowing you to send a service code and data to a specific Object and Instance. This may be available within the next couple weeks.
