Are you reading and writing using VB code?

So you have some VB code performing READ directly with ModbusTCPCom1.Read ?

Can you explain what you mean by "laggy"?

When using only the built-in controls, the drivers and controls use background threads therefore the other items on the form should see minimal effect in response.

My understanding of computer is well below six Σ.
Unless what I say is logically defined in a PLC, everything else might be beyond my control.
